Nagendra Singh gets Rajasthan Ratna Award 2013

Nagendra Singh gets Rajasthan Ratna Awards 2013. He served on the United Nations International Law Commission from 1967 to 1972. He was appointed representative in UNO assembly in 1966, 1969, 1975. He was also elected secretary in international bar association, and served as Chief Election Commissioner of India. He was awarded the Kama award in 1938. He was born into the Rajput family in Dungarpur, Rajasthan. He also served as Chief Election Commissioner of India serving from 1 October 1972 to 6 February 1973. He was a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan from the Government of India in 1973.
Rajasthan Ratna awardees are given Rs 1 lakh as cash, a shawl and a citation by the stategovernor,chief minister and minister of art and culture.This award is on the lines of the highest civilian award Bharat Ratna that is conferred by the central govt of India .
