State Cabinet in its meeting decided that the five liter Desi Ghee being provided to BPL women after first institutional delivery will now be provided in two parts. Three liter ghee will be given to the pregnant woman after the first ANC and the remaining 2 liter will be given at the time of discharge after delivery. The cabinet also gave approval to the proposal related to amendment in Biomass Energy Policy – 2010 and proposal related to double the special pay of STF officers and jawans.
Talking to media persons after the cabinet meeting Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Rajendra Rathore informed that the decision to provide 3 liter Desi Ghee at the time of ANC will help in improving maternal nutrition in pregnancy and lactation period of pregnant BPL women. The pregnant BPL women to get coupon of 3 liter Ghee after check up between fourth to sixth months of pregnancy. In the beginning the scheme will be run as a pilot project in Tonk, Dholpur, Churu, Jaisalmer, Jhunjhnu, Baran and Banswara districts.
